On this floor, circle around south and open the treasure chest for some Saint's Ashes. Head down the stairs in the middle to Level 2. Here, press the switch by the north wall twice to spin things around and make a path to where you need to go.
Press the switch on the platform in the middle of the room, before taking the northern stairs back down to Level 3. Make sure you defeat it to receive a Seed of Skill. Cross the narrow piece of ground to the left and you'll spot a Mimic. Go through the southeast passage and climb up to Level 4.
Still on the same floor, go around to the west side of the room and examine the bookshelf to get the recipe book An Anthology of Elemental Earrings.
On Level 3, check the book on the shelf directly ahead to find the recipe book Favorite Fashions of the Masters of Magic. Pressing it lifts the stairs in the middle of the room and connects it to the floor above you. On this floor, go around the hallway and you'll find the next switch by the north wall.
